The Ottawa Booth Centre is a Christian Organization aimed to support, rehabilitate and advocate for the most vulnerable populations. The Management, The Board, and The Union have shown continuous blatant disregard for the safety and the security for both staff and clients. They continue to ignore significant health and safety concerns.

Significant issues such as being constantly understaffed, un-investigated sexual assault and harassment claims between staff and clients as well amongst the staff members. Lack of PPE during the current pandemic, reusing masks and gowns amongst staff. The phones not being able to access emergency services. No communication between management and staff, poor and ineffective management. A toxic work environment. Embezzlement of donated funds and goods. Consistent violations of human rights, health and safety standards and the practice of corrupt values within the shelter.

It is very clear that the well being and safety of the people within this organization and that heavily rely on this organization, is not valued. It is for this reason that we advocating for the Booth Centre location in Ottawa to be shut down permanently. The Ottawa Booth Centre has been approved by the City for relocation in Vanier when they have shown that they are not capable of managing their current establishment. Assist us in permanently closing down the Ottawa Booth Centre before more damage is done and lives are irreparably damaged.
