After a much detested increase in bus fare increase to the Notts & Derby operated Saint Benedict school bus around 1 year ago, the bus fare increased anyway. Now 1 year on and the bus fare is set to increase once more. 

Saint Benedict CVA is a valuable member of Derby as a city providing young people with a Catholic education. A bus fare priced £3.20 will price many families out of this, depriving many young people the chance for a Catholic education.

A child travelling by bus to Saint Benedicts will now pay on average £624 a year.That then amounting to a over £3,000 from year 7-11. 

After our last petition which made it to the Derby Telegraph the school released they would hold a meeting to stop the increase. Nothing came of this and we are just getting another increase. 

Saint Benedicts prides themselves on having pupils from all walk of lives but this will soon become a thing of the past. 

We of course thank Notts & Derby for providing a bus service for the school but the prices they want to charge are not sustainable for families .we hope that Saint Benedicts and Notts & Derby will see the negatives of this increase and reconsider there options.
