Buying sandwiches at local supermarkets such as Tesco’s, Sainsbury’s and Bakeries such as Greggs are proving to be difficult as there is very little selection to choose from as there are no halal meat options available.

I live in north London, Finsbury Park and there is a large Muslim community living and working there and a halal meat sandwich selection would be amazing for the community as they will have more options choosing sandwiches from.

Young Muslim children should also have access to a range of healthy meals and not have to settle for just vegetarian options.

Supermarkets have a free from section, vegetarian, low calorie meals, why not widen this to a halal meat sandwich and salad section especially in areas where there are large number of Muslim community as this option would be more in demand.

Many supermarket chains have aisles called ‘foods from around the world’ why not celebrate the cultures we have here in a country that’s meant to celebrate equality and diversity.

Halal foods should be naturally recognised like any other option available on the shelves!
