Please sign! LED safety lighting (solar or powered) is urgently needed in the Motorway Tunnel in Worsley Woods... preferably before the nights start to draw in

The tunnel is pitch-dark at certain times of the day, most noticeably in Winter but affects the whole year, due to the sheer length of the tunnel

We’ve had a knifeman jump out at a female runner, a 'flasher' and a number of people injured by falling in the tunnel either from stumbling over debris or feeling disorientated... and a number of minor dog skirmishes due to darkness

Many people, some older and a significant number of women, have taken to shortening their walks as they don’t feel safe to pass through the darkness of the tunnel

It’s unfair that not everyone is always able to make full use of Worsley Woods because of a lack of lighting in this tunnel

This impacts both humans and our beloved dogs

Salford Council have not been supportive but with enough signatures we will get their full attention - please sign!

We URGENTLY need Salford Council decisionmakingandscrutiny@salford.gov.uk and/or Street Lighting Design Team to liaise with National Highways @NationalHways to URGENTLY find a way forward
