Dear City Council and/or Amy Williams (City Engineer),

We, the undersigned residents of Ridge Rd. West/The Shores, are writing to formally express our concerns regarding the ongoing safety hazards caused by excessive speeding on our street.

As concerned members of this community, we believe immediate action is necessary to prevent a potential tragedy and ensure the safety of all residents, especially children and pedestrians.

Over the past few years, we have witnessed a growing number of vehicles speeding through Ridge Rd. West, regularly exceeding posted speed limits and creating a dangerous environment for those who live here.
The risk to pedestrians and children who often play or walk along this road is extremely high. We are worried that it is only a matter of time before a serious accident occurs.

As concerned neighbors, we are urging the city to take immediate action by implementing the following safety measures:

1. Installation of Stop signs at Ridge Road West/Ridge Crest Pl and Ridge

Road West/Hidden Valley: To reduce excessive speeds, especially near

residential areas and locations where children are likely to be playing and

walkers crossing the road.

2. Increased Traffic Enforcement: Regular police patrols to monitor and enforce

the speed limits during peak hours, especially when children are coming home

from school or playing outdoors.

3. Additional Signage and Visibility Improvements: Clear, visible signs indicating

the speed limit and warnings about pedestrian traffic, particularly in areas with

high foot traffic.

4. Crosswalks and Pedestrian Infrastructure: The installation of crosswalks at

key intersections to help ensure the safe crossing of pedestrians, especially at

heavily trafficked points.

We believe these measures are necessary to make our neighborhood safer and more secure for everyone, and we respectfully request that they be implemented without delay.

We appreciate your immediate attention to this matter, and we look forward to a swift response. Together, we hope to ensure that Ridge Rd. West remains a safe and welcoming place for all who live here.
