I stand here today as a concerned citizen and a woman. With the triumph of Donald Trump in the recent election, one cannot help but grow apprehensive of what the future may hold for women's rights. It was noted previously, during his first term, that some actions and policies were seen as disregarding women's rights, and the concern that history might repeat itself is deeply personal to me.

Given the precarious nature of the situation, it becomes imperative for us as a society to fight for the protection and recognition of women's rights under this term. While it's true that substantial numbers of women supported Kamala Harris on issues such as reproductive rights and gender equality, we cannot ignore the potential setbacks that we may encounter under Trump's administration.

According to the National Women's Law Center, there have been numerous actions under Trump's past tenure that posed threats to women's health, economic security, and workplace rights. The fear persists that these threats could potentially resurface given Trump's recent win.

This is why we should band together and proactively push for the safeguarding of women's rights during Trump's Presidency. Audacious vigilance must be our guiding principle. We must reach out to our legislators, stand firm on the issues that matter to us, and, with a collective voice, demand that our rights be protected and upheld, regardless of who sits in the White House.
