Safeguard Our National and State Forests from Privatization

Safeguard Our National and State Forests from Privatization
The Issue
The beauty and serenity of our national and state forests have always been close to my heart. As an avid camper and an enthusiastic lover of the outdoors, I have come to appreciate the value of these natural environments. They can't be manufactured, once lost; they are lost forever. It is not just a resource for us today, but a legacy we leave for future generations. However, these precious lands are under threat from private interests, focusing on short term benefits while neglecting the long term environmental and societal repercussions.
Every year, various private entities seek rights to exploit these forests, endangering the biodiversity within them and disrupting the ecological balance. The United States Forest Service reports that nearly 190 million acres of land are at potential risk. This amounts to about 30% of the total land managed by the federal government that could fall into private hands (source: U.S Forest Service).
We call upon lawmakers and the relevant authorities to enact stricter regulations to protect our national and state forests from privatization. Our forests represent our nation's heritage, ecology, and future. Decisions on their management should reflect an understanding of their value beyond immediate economic gain.
Help us preserve these irreplaceable habitats, respect the balance of nature, and leave a legacy for future generations to appreciate and love, as we do today. Please sign this petition to ensure our voices are heard and contribute to the safeguarding of our national and state forests.
