What if I told you there was something we could do right now that would help bring Nebraska football back to its pre-2000 glories.

Well, here it is...

We need to sacrifice Lil' Red on the 50-yard line of Memorial Stadium to break a curse that's been haunting this program for the last 2 decades.

It sounds drastic, I know. But let me explain.

It might be a surprise to some but Lil' Red has become the host of a very nasty football-related curse. Many experts believe it all started with the firing of Frank Solich. However, there's still ongoing research on its origins so nothing is settled science quite yet. 

Regardless of how it began, these experts all agree that there is in fact a curse, and sacrificing Lil' Red is the only way to break it.

Due to Lil' Red's curse, we've been playing football at a massive disadvantage over the past 2 decades. You've probably noticed the curse manifest itself in many different ways. Lately, it's had a strong effect on special teams and questionable penalties(*cough* disconcerting signals).

Frost and co. have been doing all they can to overcome this unfortunate situation but they're going to need our help getting Nebraska over the hump and into our rightful place as Big Ten champions.

This is why I'm calling on Husker Nation to sign this petition so we can influence the powers-that-be to move forward with sacrificing Lil' Red which will finally break this awful curse. 

We can't keep ignoring the harsh reality that we're stuck with. We need action NOW to allow this 2022 team to get the 10+ wins they rightfully deserve.

It might be tough for some to want to extinguish the life from such a young and lively mascot. I get it.

However, the Lil' Red we grew up loving has been dead for many years now. His mind has become consumed with manifesting phantom pass interference calls and blocked punts to even understand his current situation. 

Lil' Red loved Nebraska football more than anything. Do you think he would want to stay inflated knowing the pain and suffering he's causing? 

My guess is no.

What needs to be done isn't easy. I'm sure many Husker fans will need time to grieve and recover. However, college football is a brutal place and requires you to get your hands dirty on occasion. If the real Lil' Red was still mentally with us, he'd understand the hard choice that's put in front of us right now. 

So once again, please sign this petition so we can finally end our football curse and be the football powerhouse that Scott Frost is trying to make us.
