On July 10th, 2021 the world lost two beautiful people. De’juanna Byrd and Raquel Hudson’s lives were tragically cut short by one man and his poor choices. Just after 3 am Ricardo Beltram got behind the wheel of a car, while heavily intoxicated, and drove head on into the car containing De’juanna and Raquel, both were pronounced dead on the scene. They both were only 28 years old. Rather than offering apologies or condolences to the family, Ricardo’s mother decided to start a GoFundMe page with a goal of $10k to “give Ricardo a fair shot in court.” And while Ricardo’s family attends baseball games, and events and gets to see their loved one still, our family is hurting and struggling to bury our girls. He gets a shot at life still. They don’t. Keep in mind this is Ricardo’s third DUI since 2010. This man does not deserve a 4th chance. We are asking for signatures on this petition in hopes to get justice for De’juanna and Raquel.
