Prosecute Kayla Lynn Wright to the fullest extent.
The Issue
On Dec. 26, 2014, a resident in Carmichael, reported finding a dead dog in the garbage with what appeared to be a cord tied around its neck. At 7 p.m. that day a resident in the same area reported his two small dogs missing from his front yard. One of the dogs returned but it had a cord tied around its neck and tape on its mouth according to according to Sacramento sheriff's spokesperson Lisa Bowman. The second dog was later found unharmed. Sheriff's detectives located and used surveillance video in the neighborhood and identified a female in the footage who was later identified as Kayla Wright. Further investigation led detectives to believe Wright was responsible for the deceased dog initially found in the garbage. Animal abuse is a serious matter so we need the Sacramento County District Attorney to know people who are cruel to animals deserve appropriate sentences for their crimes. There have been several cases recently that have resulted in the accused animal abuser found guilty, but given an inadequate sentence and I feel this gives others the impression that they can get away with crimes against animals. I want to put an end to this. We are asking the Sacramento District Attorney to consider the recommended charges and prosecute Kayla Lynn Wright to the fullest extent.
