On August 25, 1995, Marco Loney was murdered by a Richmond Police officer.  Marco was shot in the back as he stood with his hands raised above his head, facing away from the RPD officer. Although the fatal shot was unjustified and ruled a homicide by the medical examiner, RPD officer Jeffery Miles waa never charged or the city held accountable for the officer's murderous act. 

RPD Officer Miles falsely claimed that he thought Marco had a weapon but he clearly was unarmed and numerous eyewitnesses provided eyewitness accounts to the egregious murder. 

Marco's story is the same story that has been occurring over the years with different faces and names: Rayshard Brooks, Michael Brown, Marcus-David Peters.

For 25 years, Marco Loney's family has experienced a trauma that will never subside.  Marco Antoine Loney is a part of this movement and he deserves justice.
