The firing of Brittney Cooper from Rutgers University
The Issue
A Rutgers assistant professor boasted Thursday that she has tenure amid a flurry of criticism for a tweet that blamed President Trump supporters for the coronavirus crisis.
Brittney Cooper, an associate professor of women’s and gender studies and author of “Eloquent Rage: A Black Feminist Discovers Her Superpower,” sparked a backlash Tuesday after she tweeted, “F– each and every Trump supporter. You all absolutely did this. You are to blame.”
Ms. Cooper suggested that it’s white people, particularly white conservatives, who are pushing to re-open the economy because they either don’t care or are rooting for the fact that the coronavirus disproportionately affects black people.
(Thank you to the Washington Times for the excerpts from article above)
Recently Ms. Cooper called out Supporters of President Trump on Twitter in a very vulgar manner. Is this really the type of educator we need to indoctrinate our youth. There is no place for Racism in higher education.
This professor should not be teaching her racist rhetoric and should be immediately removed from the classroom.
