Change the 'dangerous dog' law now
The Issue
Too many innocence dogs are being needlessly destroyed because of their breed and the ignorance of public and 'experts' alike. Any dog can be deemed dangerous, and indeed, can be made that way. It all depends on the way they are raised. More emphasis must be put on vetting potential owners. Anybody who truly loves dogs will not object to this, only those who wish to own them for fighting or simply to make themselves feel 'big'. I realise that a law to stop unsuitable people from owning or breeding dogs will not stop them all, but people must be made aware that the animal is not at fault, it is the human who the poor thing trusts that is to blame. I call upon the government to amend the Dangerous dogs law to take each case individually, and NOT for it to be a blanket death warrant because of breed.
