This petition is to stop or at least decrease the amount of autistic people getting bullied in school.

Firstly, right now in a number of schools, people who have autism are getting bullied, and they can be ignored or pushed way by the school. 65% of parents with autistic children reported that their child had been in some form victimized by their school piers. 47% reported that their child had been hit by piers or siblings because they are autistic. 50% of children are scared to go to school because of certain school peers. No one should ever be afraid to go to school because of who they are. It is a disgusting behaviour that needs to change right now.

Secondly, them being bullied can lead to allot of problems, some short term and some long term. Some of these being depression, anger, self esteem problems and much, much more. 

Thirdly, even teachers, exclude and make the children with autism stand out because they are "different". And when there is a case of bullying which involves an autistic child being bullied, some schools ignore it or delay it, making it worse and they sometimes do solve it but it's at the last minute. But some teachers and schools will just ignore it completely.

In conclusion, we want to change this. Bullying of autistic people needs more attention and needs more of the correct support. Schools should also be funded more to help people with autism. We know there have been people who have autism and have suffered bullying from not just students but teachers as well. The fact that teachers think its okay to bully students because of who they are is disgusting. Students are meant to look up at the teachers for guidance and help. Pupils are meant to look up to their teachers, not be afraid of them.
