Dear Readers
I have finally heard from the Hon Dugald Saunders MP Minister for Agriculture. This was received by email on 24 June 2022, in response to an email I sent to the Premier of NSW on 15 Dec 2021. Yes, that is 6 months to receive a reply that should be no more that 20 working days!
In this latest correspondence he states `I have reviewed your previous correspondence and the concerns you have raised but am unable to provide any further information regarding this matter’.
New readers should be aware that I have tried for over 6 years to get the NSW Government to insist that the Enforcers of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act (POCTA) do actually enforce that Act!
The RSPCA NSW allowed the most terrible suffering to occur at Camp Kitty Cowra. Approximately 200 cats suffered the most dreadful conditions, with fights amongst the starving animals and live cats eating the corpses of dead cats. All the RSPCA NSW would tell me were that `there were no welfare issues’.
The photo demonstrates some of the horror that occurred there; a cat who has lost an eye in a fight pleading for help.
Taxpayers please be aware that last year the RSPCA NSW received 13.4% of its funding from the NSW Government, and if you are a taxpayer in that state you should be concerned and angry, and I ask that you write to your State MP and complain. Or, write directly to the Hon Saunders.
I shall now consider writing to all the State MP’s of NSW, and maybe the Independent Commission against Corruption.
Taxpayers and the animals that live in NSW deserve much better than this.
