Dear Readers, just to bring you up to date with developments. The last update was amazing, attracting over 500 new petitioners. Also a lot of reader input, with some going to great lengths to try and save that poor cat. The photo I publish is the one I used when I first started the petition. That was when there were about 200 cats at Camp Kitty, and this one had died and was being eaten by the other hungry cats. The sight of it broke my heart and I vowed its passing would not be in vain!

One reader made such offensive comments that I think the site Moderator must have deleted them. Not sure why people indulge in this sort of abuse, maybe their lives are so unhappy that they must indulge in this sort of behaviour. From now on if people want to be abusive I will not respond, or respond to anyone who suggests I break the law. This animal can be saved by increasing reader numbers and the embarrassment it causes the RSPCA NSW and Cowra Council.

I thank you all for the help you are giving this cause, and also for the moral support you are giving me. Although I have never asked anyone to donate to the site I know some have and it obviously has been a great help in stimulating interest.

Some email address errors in my last update. Eagle eyed reader Carmen spotted the errors and I publish the correct ones at the end of this update. Thanks Carmen, and I will let her continue this narrative -

Hi Keith, I sent the below to the RSPCA and this is their reply. No reply from the council yet. I will do a follow up email in about a week or so, as to give them time to do as they say they will.

Hi, I am writing to you over my concern for a cat that is confined at Camp Kitty, and hope you are able to help.
It is to my understanding that the owner of this cat has in the past been prosecuted by the RSPCA, and convicted of animal cruelty charges. Its very hard to understand why then, this man, with his criminal offences towards animals, is allowed to own any animal. That, I will never understand. One does not buy or receive an animal just to leave the animal alone for days in some yard and no intention of taking him home with him. Very strange. As he is, this cat is simply a prisoner, to an animal abuser. This man has a very cruel record where animals are concerned, and I am sure you are aware of the many complaints that you received , past years, about Camp Kitty and the animals that suffered there, at the hands of this man.. And suffer they did.
The last remaining cat needs our help. He may have room to move, but he is confined 24hours a day to a life of boredom, not being able to do what most cats do, which is explore, play, interact with humans, find places to sleep and so on. This cats life is very limited. Some cloth was put in place for rain, sun protection, above some type of metal kennel, called a home and or bed and that is it. Because the cloth is not properly set up, in rain, it will result in water being build up and then overflowing and even completely falling down once the water pressure is too much. If water does not build up, maybe even worse, as then obviously it leaks, then this cat has no protection at all. This cloth is a very poor substitute for a roof. There is no doubt in my mind that the cats bedding is damp and because the cat is under lock and key, no one can go in, and actually check things out, but rather, forced to look from a view.
The animal is forced to rely on someone to feed him every second day or so. We are not even sure if the food/water is away from sun light, or if the food that is left for him is not been over taken over by ants before he has a chance to eat it all. I believe you have a duty to make sure this cat is being well looked after. If anyone goes over the fence to check things, they will be breaking the law, whereas you have a right to investigate, backed up, by complaints.
Is RSPCA able to contact this person to ask him if he will surrender this cat, so he can finally get the home he deserves, and hopefully he will not replace the cat.
From reading a petition, I know that someone is eager to give this animal a loving home.
I hope you are able to give this cat much thought, and appreciate you taking the time to read this.. I will look forwards to your reply.
Carmen
