I publish the photo again that readers have seen before, when I took the photo I promised myself that the poor animal would not have died in vain!
Some readers have urged me to cut the cage wire and allow the cat to escape or capture it and re home it. I had that option when there were 200 cats at Camp Kitty. The result would have been hungry cats roaming around decimating the bird life and possibly being ripped apart by foxes. If I could get possession of it getting it a loving home would be a doddle. Capturing it is a problem. It would take criminal damage and trespass to achieve and also trapping equipment to be set up and left on site, until it enters the trap. I intend to urge politicians to introduce stronger laws to protect animals of all description, and for the people in authority who could resolve this issue to do so.
I feel the solution is this. If every one of the over 18000 petition signers took action and spent a few moment so their time I think success can be achieved.
Cowra Council has know about the situation at Camp Kitty for numerous years. They allowed the CK owner to keep cats there, therefore Council must act to resolve the situation.
Please copy and paste the following email to the General Manager of Cowra Council. The Council do employ rangers that have the ability, both technical and legal, to enter Camp Kitty, set a trap and capture it.
Dear General Manager, I believe you are aware of the cat cruelty situation that has existed at Camp Kitty for many years. Virtually all of the 200 cats that suffered there have now disappeared, but there is still one cat left that has existed there for 4 years now, all alone and with very poor shelter and virtually no supervision.
It is within the powers of the Council to rectify this situation and I believe one of Council’s obligations. Can a ranger be sent to seize it? A neighbour of CK has stated he is willing to find it a home and will attend to any medical costs that may be required. Please let me know what you can do.
I ask that you do not contact the RSPCA NSW for assistance in this task as they seem uninterested in the welfare of this animal. They are a public company whose motivations could be influenced by money aspects and their kill rate for seized animals seems to be the worst for all the Australian States. Regards [your name and contact details].

Please help, take action lets get this cat saved. Every email that is sent will help save that poor cat. Regards Keith
