A petition reader, Felicity Jess, has posted that she has received a response to her email to the RSPCA. The response states that the RSPCA makes regular inspection, that the cats are fed and watered, and that there is a full time caretaker there.
This is just RSPCA spin! The Full Time Caretaker is a person who needs accommodation and in return for accommodation he feeds and waters the cats when he is there. However he is not there all the time and has been absent from Camp Kitty for days at a time!
Regular visits? As far as I know they have been there once since I have been informing them of several long periods at Camp Kitty with no one being present there.
Below is an email sent to me on 17th December 2014 from David O'Shannessy, Chief Inspector
Dear Mr. Climpson,
Thank you for recent letter regarding your concerns about the condition of a large number of cats at a property in Cowra.
I would like to confirm with you that we have been attending the property on a number of occasions and are working with the owner of the property to monitor and ensure the welfare of the animals on the property.
Please do contact me should you require additional information.
Yours faithfully,
David O'Shannessy, Chief Inspector
The date above is not a typo, yes it was 2014.
What about the solitary cat, the one whose accommodation has been shown in previous posts? Still there I believe, with the same dirty bedding and no companionship or socialisation! No hope for that poor little thing! Freezing cold in the winter and boiling hot in the summer. Yesterday was 40 degrees Centigrade here!
Felicity was present at Camp Kitty when there was a public protest about cruelty issues there. This was maybe a year and a half ago. Many others were there as well, and I invite them all to make a post so that everyone can understand that this is not just about me and an irrational desire to embarrass the RSPCA. My only aim is to prevent cruelty taking place, and aim which should be at the forefront of RSPCA thinking, instead of just conducting irregular visits and stating that `there were no welfare issues'
Today’s photo shows the skeletons of cats that were seen by cleaners that came to the property when the RSPCA was saying that `there were no welfare issues'
