Dear Readers of my petition, I thank each and every one of you for the helpful comments you have supplied and for making inquiries to the RSPCA NSW, both by email and phone.
I wish to apologise today to the RSPCA for my criticism of their inaction or unwillingness to prosecute the now criminal who is the owner of Camp Kitty, Richard McCudden. The judgement by Cowra Court has shown me why they were reluctant!
However for all the time they were telling people (including my then State MP,) that there were no welfare issues, is beyond belief. Were they being misled by the then Inspector of Camp Kitty?
I now ask if they would use this petition site to let us all know the circumstances of why they kept saying `no welfare issues'!
I thank our then State MP Katrina Hodgkinson for her efforts to help the cats imprisoned at Camp Kitty. She made inquiries to the RSPCA and was most diligent in her efforts.
Above all I thank Floyd Cush and his camera person at Prime7 News. The footage that appeared on television was undoubtedly a game changer, especially when viewers saw a cat with a broken leg attempting to negotiate its way across the Camp Kitty yard.
A happy new year to everyone that has contributed to helping to bring an end to the cruelty that has taken place at Camp Kitty. However there is still work to be done to make sure that this awful situation is not repeated at another location. More about that in another update
Today’s photo shows the living accommodation for the solitary cat that survived all winter in freezing conditions with the rain sodden filthy bedding. I believe it is still there. Will it never have a decent home? It seems after the Court ruling that it may not.
Regards Keith
