Hello. This is about fireworks and the mis use of them. I, myself am a father of a young child and appreciate the thrill and excitement of fireworks. They can be fantastic for an evenings entertainment with all the old traditions being implemented along side them. (Bonfires, toffee apples, baked potatoes)

This isn't about me or my views though.

I genuinely think it is far too easy to be able to obtain a lethal device. That may sound a bit dramatic but in reality, that's what a firework, rocket or otherwise is. No training and no certification or licenses are needed other than proof of age.

That is not the main issue though. My concern (although I do worry about the safety of young adults) is the affected parties. Mainly animals and people who have seen combat in a military role.

November the 5th has always been celebrated and in my few decades of being blessed to be on this earth I've always known it to be so. Unfortunately the bangs get louder, they get closer, and carry on longer with technology enhancing the production of the type of fireworks people enjoy best. Bigger, faster and louder.

It seems to me that the law hasn't kept up with this change in the way the 5th of November is celebrated and would urge anyone reading this to give it a thought.

Five weeks ago people started letting fireworks off and going off past experience they will continue to do so for another 2 to 3 weeks further.

Animal owners and pet owners can get ready for the big night in question. There are multiple ways to calm pets. I think that is fair enough. Let people have their celebration and traditions.

I think weeks and weeks of the same thing every night is too much for the public to be expected to console their loved ones, wether that be a pet or a suffering PTSD patient.

Just a simple training course and licence obtaining policy would reduce this massively in my opinion.
