Keep RRISD Classrooms Staffed: Improve Educator Salaries
The Issue
According to RRISD’s last school board meeting, 20% of staff left last year. In addition, the U.S. Labor Department stated inflation rate is at a 40 year high. We have no choice but to better compensate our educators and all other staff so that their salaries are more sustainable. This is absolutely essential.
We cannot ignore what staff members are “saying” by turning in resignations. By providing better salaries, we show staff we value them. Some staff and educators will simply have no choice but to quit if they don’t get a pay raise with inflation the way it is now.
We are getting close to the end of the school year. This is when teachers and other staff will be given their contracts for next year and decide if they want to renew them. Let’s give them a reason to think twice before turning in a resignation.
