Stop the Royal Mail Delivery Office being moved from South Woodford to Chingford

Last week Royal Mail indicated that they could move the Royal Mail Delivery Office from Marlborough Road in South Woodford to Station Road in Chingford.

We believe this move will be heavily detrimental to the residents and businesses of South Woodford and Snaresbrook for the following reasons:

1. South Woodford and Snaresbrook is home to businesses, young professionals, families and the elderly. All these groups are often heavily reliant on having a delivery office in close proximity. Moving the delivery office to Chingford will be a huge inconvenience, particularly for those who are less mobile.

2. The delivery office has served South Woodford and Snaresbrook for 60 years and forms an intrinsic part of the area. The population of South Woodford and Snaresbrook is increasing. The area needs to have all the basic amenities to cater for residents and businesses . Moving the delivery office would be a step back for South Woodford and Snaresbrook rather than a step forward.

3. Even if residents or business owners could travel to Chingford to collect their post, the traffic could result in journey times taking up to 30 minutes resulting in delays in residents and businesses receiving their post.

We kindly ask you to sign this petition to send a strong message to Royal Mail to NOT progress with this move.
