Open NC bars

Open NC bars
The Issue
I wrote this post 2 days ago, and it's already reached over 11,000 people. Owners of private bars are being targeted and discriminated against, by not being allowed to open. We have a right to open our business just as much as Breweries, Wineries, and Restaurants. Please let's get just as many signatures as people have read my post. It's time to demand a change.
As I listened to the court hearing for NC bars to open, it upset me when the State's lawyer said that the patrons of private bars didn't know how to act. I haven't been able to get it off of my mind. First, I was mad and defensive, then I wondered who are you to judge.
The people that are going to breweries, wineries, and restaurants to drink are the ones that would be in a bar. I can't speak for every private bar, only for myself. I've come to the conclusion that you're right, patrons who go to private bars are not the same people that go to breweries and wineries.
When I have a patron that doesnt come in by a certain time, we ask each other if anything is wrong. We call that person to check on them.
This is why private bars are different.
We know when our patrons go on vacation or take a weekend away. We get to hear how that patrons vacation was. This is why private bars are different.
When one of our patrons needs help, we are there to help. Whether it's a ride somewhere, going to the grocery store for them, or even taking a spouse's remains box to get a name plate on it. I've had a patron build 2 boxes for my parent's ashes. This is why private bars are different.
Our patrons and I bring food in for anyone who doesn't have a place to go for Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas Dinner, Easter Dinner and a Birthday Party. This is why private bars are different.
We know the health issues of our patrons, and we know how to sanitize just as good as anyone. Being a private bar, myself, as the owner, work most days. We may have 1 or 2 employees not 10-20, like restaurants, breweries and wineries. This is my livelihood, and with the small amount of employees, it's harder for something to fall through the cracks. This is why private bars are different.
We have personal relationships with our patrons. We know when they've had a bad day. We know about break ups, deaths, promotions, vacations, etc. We also have direct contact with our patrons. We know how they act when they've had too much to drink, or not taken their diabetes medicine or not eaten. I know where most of my regulars live, and have taken several home before instead of them driving. This is why private bars are different.
As I listened to one of your updates, you mentioned faith. You said that you were an elder in your church and taught Sunday school for 20 years. I am a Christian, but I do not actively go to church, however, I even know the scriptures of judging people. Let me share it with you.
Matthew 7:1-2
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
I am upset that you have chosen to rip my livelihood away from me for 99 days thus far.
You do it because you have unjustly judged me, my patrons, and my ability to run my business without even knowing me. This is not what a Christian or a person that runs our state is supposed to do. You are using your personal feelings to make everyone one of the small bar owners in this state fail.
And for that......you will be judged.
