Today my school went on lockdown and we had no idea what was going on. Our principal had emailed our parents during the lockdown saying that it had been lifted. That was false. A parent has brought it to our attention that an art teacher at our school had shown a student an email from the principal saying that they had found a gun on campus and to not tell the students. As a principal of a school, you’d think they’d email the parents this information at least. We were on lockdown for an hour with no idea what was going on. And we have just now found out that there was an actual gun on campus. The solution to this problem? Email the parents the truth. Don’t lie to “keep students calm”.
