As of October 2015, Junior Assembly does not allow same sex couples to attend their annual cotillion dance. As well as blatantly discriminating against the LGBTQ Community, this organization is perpetuating what they call “traditional values from the 1940’s,” which have no place in today’s progressive society. Female members are not allowed to attend the event unaccompanied; a man is required to check-in each female guest.
