Robert Moses Field 4 is one of the most popular beaches on Long Island. Unfortuately, New York State wants to close it during weekdays this summer, and they have not provided any explanation. We were previously told that RM4 would be opened full time because of its large parking lot, which would help alleviate Field 5's crowded and eroded beach. The state also told us that keeping RM4 opened full time would help save money.  We are clueless as to why they have gone back on this decision because saving money has been the state's highest priority for a long time. RM4 must be kept as a full time beach in order for the state to see any increase in revenue. Finally, this radio-free, family beach is an essential part to Robert Moses State Park, and it must be kept opened 7 days a week.
