Schools shouldn’t be allowed to dress code girls for wearing lululemon shorts

Schools shouldn’t be allowed to dress code girls for wearing lululemon shorts
The Issue
I am starting this petition because so many girls across the country get dress coded everyday for wearing lululemon shorts. Most of the time the shorts are seen as to short but I see girls wearing much shorter shorts and they don’t get dress coded because they’re an off brand that’s cheaper. Literally last week a teacher made a comment on my shorts and I asked what was different between mine and another girls who’s jean shorts were going up her butt and he said to start that I was wearing $75 dollar shorts so I should have some respect. I don’t think my parents success should differentiate me from a girl who’s less fortunate. We’re both just trying to feel good about ourselves and wear stuff that makes us feel cute regardless of how expensive the shorts are. Money doesn’t define who we are and so neither should the price or length of our shorts. Another reason we get dress coded for wearing lulu shorts is that if our shirts are long then are shorts aren’t visible. I don’t think we should be allowed to get dressed coded for that because we obviously have shorts on. Even if it means they have us pull up our shirts a little bit to check if we have them on then we shouldn’t get dress coded unless we weren’t wearing shorts which would never happen. I hope you take this into consideration and help us out!
