Kimberly is a 53-year-old woman currently incarcerated at the Florida Women’s Reception Center located in Ocala, Florida. Kimberly is in her 12th year of prison with a release date of 2038.

Kimberly Cannon has a dream. That dream is to watch her youngest child graduate high school in 2021. Another dream is to hold and play with her 4 grandchildren. Kimberly Cannon has missed so many meaningful days out of her children’s lives and missed watching her grandchildren grow up. Kimberly is a former first grade teacher and entrepreneur. She was the business owner for ‘Mall Sitters Daycare/ Babysitting’, ‘Heavenly Housekeeping & Lawn care’, ‘Backpack Boarding Houses’ and ‘Cool Kat Convenience store & Laundromat. Kimberly has her B.A. in education, graduating in 1990 from the University of West Florida. Though incarcerated, Kimberly has continued her passion of religion and education earning an A.A. in Religious Education in 2014, and a B.A. in Religious Education in 2016 from the Jacksonville Theological Seminary. Kimberly also now has 4 years in Canine training for Search/Rescue and Service Dogs and has trained shelter dogs to facilitate adoption. This former elementary school teacher has 8 years of being an ITA, (Certified Inmate Teacher), to which she preps and tutors students to obtain their G.E.D. Kimberly has also graduated from Faith-Based Program.

Kimberly Cannon has family support and a home to go to upon her release. Kimberly has a promised job awaiting her upon her release. Kimberly has utilized her time in prison to better herself. With the earned degrees and countless hours spent helping other women better themselves. Kimberly has a strong desire to again be a productive citizen amongst society. She wants to make her family proud again. She wants a second chance.
