We, the undersigned residents of India, hereby petition the esteemed authorities to reconsider and roll back the end timing for pubs and restaurants to 11:30 PM, accompanied by enhanced law enforcement measures. While the extension was done due to pandemic situation to cover for financial losses however its time we go back to peaceful residential state and maintain the decorum of society by limiting the night life nuisance. We, also urge cancellation of licenses of illegally permitted restrobars in residential areas and do not have parking/sound proofing/rooftops.

The recent tragic incident involving the loss of two innocent lives by an 17 year old boy recklessly driving unregistered Porsche and hitting a two wheeler from behind at a speed of 150kmph has deeply shaken our community and demand justice for the victims. While we mourn the lives lost, it also brings to light the urgent need for stricter regulations on nightlife activities within our city.

Extending the operating hours of pubs and restaurants beyond 11:30 PM poses significant risks to public safety and exacerbates the potential for accidents and incidents like the one mentioned in the aforementioned news article. It's imperative that we prioritize the safety and well-being of our citizens above all else.

 

 

 

 

 

Therefore, in addition to rolling back the end timing to 11:30 PM, we urge the authorities to implement the following enhanced law enforcement measures:

 

Timely Validations of Closure Timings: Ensure that pubs, tapri, roadside stalls and restaurants adhere strictly to the mandated closure timings through regular and stringent validations by law enforcement officials.

Crackdown on Underage Drinking and Driving: Implement rigorous checks to prevent underage individuals from consuming alcohol and driving under the influence, thereby reducing the risk of accidents and fatalities.

Monitoring Unregistered Vehicles: Increase surveillance and enforcement efforts to identify and penalize owners of unregistered vehicles and no number plate, which are often involved in reckless driving incidents and modified silencer creating loud noise and disturbing peace.

Noise Control Measures: Enforce noise control regulations to address disturbances caused by loud music from pubs and excessive noise from vehicles, ensuring a peaceful environment for all residents. While official time to stop loud music is 10pm but adherence to it needs to be established and proper governance is needed with strict action against violators.

Enhanced Patrolling: Increase police patrolling in areas with high nightlife activity to deter criminal behavior and promptly respond to any emergencies or violations.

Citizen Obedience Campaigns: Launch public awareness campaigns to promote responsible behavior among citizens, emphasizing the importance of obeying traffic laws, avoiding drunk driving, and respecting noise ordinances.

By implementing these comprehensive measures in conjunction with rolling back the end timing for pubs and restaurants, we can effectively mitigate the risks associated with late-night activities, reduce instances of accidents and fatalities, and create a safer environment for all residents.

We urge the authorities to consider this petition seriously and take immediate action to prioritize the safety and welfare of our community.
