Save Rohnert Park Fireworks

The Issue

Recently, the three new Rohnert Park city council members, Gerard Giudice, Jackie Elward, and Willy Linares have decided to vote to ban fireworks in Rohnert Park and we want to change that. Fireworks have been a source of family fun and neighborhood celebrations for so many of us. This recent change will put an end to that as well as a source of funding for so many community programs that many of us enjoy. It goes against everything this city stands for; youth, sports, recreation, community, friends, family, clubs, get togethers, freedom, unity, equity for children who can not afford to participate in sports, and keeps our community engaged with one another.

If you, your children, or your grandchildren have participated in youth sports then you know how impactful these programs can be on our youth. The sales from these fireworks make these programs possible. Not only do these firework sale fundraisers help fund amazing community building sports programs, such as Rohnert Park Cotati Warriors Football and Cheer, Rancho Cotate High School Softball, Technology High Sport Boosters, Rohnert Park Soccer, Rohnert Park Girls Softball, Rohnert Park Swim Club, but they also support school programs such as Expeditionary Learning Parents Association, Rancho Cotate High School Music Boosters, and Cotati-Rohnert Park Project Graduation. These sales also fund other programs within Rohnert Park that help further bind our community such as; Active 20/30 Club of the North Bay, On Campus Ministries, Resurrection Roller Girls, Calvary Life Church, and Rohnert Park Peace Officers Sports Federation.

Please help us change this unfortunate direction and decision by some city council members by signing this petition so we can let our city council know that we do not agree with the ban of state approved Safe & Sane Fireworks program in the City of Rohnert Park.
