Roger Owens, America’s Peanut Man

The Issue

This petition was started not just for one man, but 1,000’s of his loyal fans he has sold peanuts to at Dodger Stadium for over 60 years!  Roger Owens, known as America’s Peanut Man, was impacted last year but now he is back in action entertaining and bringing joy to his fans!

Roger has been pitching peanuts since 1958 when the Dodgers moved to Los Angeles and played at the Los Angeles Coliseum.  Now that games are shorter he has not been able to sell as many peanuts each game.   Even at 80 years old he has had to pick up his pace!  He does his best to get out to as many people as he can and still entertain his loyal customers. We miss Roger pitching peanuts like the old days but still great knowing we can purchase from him!

Only Vin Scully and Jaime Jarrin were the longest-standing employees for the Dodgers. Now that Vin has passed and Jaime retired, Roger is the longest standing employee working at Dodger Stadium, OVER 60 YEARS!  At 80 years old, who knows how many years he has left going up and down those aisles, entertaining his fans and making the money he deserves!

“Selling peanuts to the fans brings a lot of joy and happiness,” Roger claimed. “I plan on doing this for as long as I can.”

Make sure you go visit him at the Loge level on the third base side.  Buy some peanuts and you may even hear one of his great jokes!

Thank you for your support!
