TWISTED SISTER for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!
Formed in 1973 by Guitarist Jay Jay French, Twisted Sister played the club circuit in the Tri-State area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut…grinding and performing for many years, day after day after day. Without ever having a record deal, the power of Twisted Sister would pack the house and sellout shows, proving that no other band could even compare to a live Twisted Sister show. No other “unsigned” band had ever accomplished what they did.
With many years of paying their dues, and the band lineup finally solidified with the hard-hitting drumming of AJ Pero, Dee Snider’s amazing vocals, Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda as the guitar tag-team, and Mark “The Animal” Mendoza pounding out each bass line, Twisted Sister had finally and deservingly signed a record deal!
Their first two albums, “Under the Blade” and “You Can’t Stop Rock N’ Roll” delivered heavy, relentless rock n’ roll. Twisted Sister hit on all cylinders, giving their legion of S.M.F.’s of Twisted Sister two albums to be cherished. Then the MTV era had arrived and Twisted Sister did the only thing they knew how…blow away the competition! They released their third album, “Stay Hungry.” With classic songs and videos such as “We’re Not Gonna Take it,” “I Wanna Rock,” “The Price” and “Burn in Hell,” they defined the 80’s and the MTV generation. No other band was bigger or better than the juggernaut of Twisted Sister.
It’s time for all SMF’s to gather, raise your fists in the air, and yell as loud as you can…TWISTED! SISTER! Let’s make sure that the pride of Long Island, Twisted Sister, deservingly gets voted into the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame.
Thank you!
