The demolition of the black box has led to the destruction of Rochdale and dismay of the people. It inevitably led to the closure of the Wheatsheaf centre, McDonalds and Marks and Spencer. The brutalist architecture was our town's cultural identity, along with college bank flats (that are also under threat of demolition), and cannot be replaced with an ugly shopping centre identical to those of Bury and Stockport. The new bus station is also not as good as the one connected to the black box. I insist that this reign of terrorisation of our town must end and that the black box, bus station and walkway are rebuilt exactly how they were. If this doesn't happen within the next 2 months I am going to start building it myself without help or permission from the council or construction training.
