Roblox needs a new CEO now

The Issue

I grew up on Roblox ever since I was a kid. I’ve seen its best and worst days and now I’m watching it spiral into something unrecognizable. This is not the platform I once knew. It was supposed to be about creativity, community, and safety a place where anyone including kids could have fun and parents could trust them to be safe. But under current leadership AKA CEO David Baszucki that vision has been traded for profit charts, PR spin, and shareholder smiles.

Let’s be clear Roblox is no longer led by someone who understands the average player. The CEO doesn’t see Roblox through the eyes of a 12 year old logging in after school to build their dream game. He sees it through the lens of quarterly earnings and stock market performance. That type of disconnection is dangerous, and it’s exactly why the platform keeps failing the people who actually make Roblox what it is.

The Schlep controversy is a perfect example. Here’s someone exposing predators. These predators are targeting kids on the platform. And instead of working with him, Roblox silenced him. They banned the whistleblower while letting the deeper problems continue. That’s not just a bad decision it’s a moral failure. It shows us exactly where leadership’s priorities lie to protect the brand image, protect the stock prices, protect the executive bonuses. And the safety of children? That’s the damned last thing on the list.

And this isn’t just a one-time mistake. We’ve seen repeated safety failures grooming, harassment, NSFW content in games meant for kids and the response is always the same a simple polished PR statement, empty promises, and business as usual. That’s why millions of players are losing trust. That’s why parents are questioning whether Roblox is safe for their kids at all.

We need a younger CEO someone who grew up in this community, who knows what it’s like to be part of it, and who can actually see the platform from a player’s perspective. Someone who understands the importance of safety not because it’s good PR, but because it’s personal to them. Someone who’s willing to make tough decisions that might upset investors in the short term, but will protect Roblox’s users who carried this platform for years and made Roblox the amazing platform it is today.

I am that person. I have lived through Roblox’s highs and lows. I understand the community from the inside because I was part of it. I would put the safety of our players before profits and rebuild the trust Roblox broke by listening, acting transparently, and making safety the number one priority always.

A younger leader won’t ignore the voices of players. A younger leader won’t silence people speaking out about predators. A younger leader won’t hide behind corporate language when kids are being harmed. They’ll be transparent, accountable, and connected to the very people who made Roblox a success in the first place.

Right now, Roblox is run like a corporation first and a community second. That needs to be changed. We need a leadership that puts community before investors, kids before profits, and truth before image. If that means replacing the current CEO, then so be it. The future of Roblox depends on it and so do the millions of kids who trust this platform every single day.
