Rob Stokes Make the Analysis Public!

Yesterday afternoon, a bunch of us came together with Jenny Leong and Councillor Jess Miller to discuss our concerns with the redrawn catchment for the brand-new Inner Sydney High School.

The new boundaries, released on Friday, include larger sections of Redfern than the previous catchment, but are otherwise the same. They still extend east to Woollahra and Double Bay, and continue to exclude children living in Darlington, Ultimo, Pyrmont and certain parts of Redfern (especially those with larger numbers of social housing).

We all agreed that there seems to be something terribly wrong with school planning.

After all this is the same department that recommended inner city schools be closed as everyone that had kids would want to move to the suburbs and live in houses.

We are asking the NSW Department of Education if these planning oversights are politically motivated, or is there evidence of incompetence?
