The catchment area drawn up for the new Inner Sydney High School excludes locals

The issue

We feel strongly that our children should not be excluded from the brand-new school that's being built on their doorstep.

Kids from areas as far away as Double Bay and Woollahra are in the catchment area of the new Inner Sydney High School on Cleveland Street, yet children who live across the road in Redfern are to be left out.

Our children will have to walk past the brand-new school to catch the bus to attend schools much further away.

Another school is being built in Alexandria but that one will barely cover the expected enrolment from nearby Green Square, with its 60,000 residents.

We are calling on Education Minister Rob Stokes to urgently review the Inner Sydney High School catchment boundaries to include families who live at its doorstep.
