THE ISSUE:

On our Local Issue, Montalbeños had observe the corruption and misallocation of funds in road maintenance happening. Such as in  construction projects, misuse of funds, bribes, and inflated contracts leading to compromised road quality. The Inefficient allocation in Montalban fixing those roads that’s in a good condition, while neglecting the other places that require an urgent attention can lead to inefficient use of funds and resources. This can cause more harm than good, especially if the unnecessary repairs divert funds away from more critical projects. According to officials, this is done simply because a budget was already planned. Without a proper oversight and transparency for the public, it's challenging to track how funds are being use

RECOMMENDATIONS:

As for the proposed solution, we want to recommend to assess and prioritize the budget allocation to focus first for the roads that are in a critical condition. Create a needs-based infrastructure plan and Implement a  transparent monitoring system wherein the citizens can see how and where funds are spent. Lastly, conduct a community consultation to ensure fairness in prioritize necessity.

CALL TO  AN ACTION:

So as the citizens of Montalban,

we respectfully want to raise a petition for the Local Government of our municipality, to stop the unnecessary repairs of roads that are still in good condition. Instead, prioritize the repair of roads that needs a direct attention. Public funds must be used wisely and fairly. For the benefit of not just the citizens, but to also improve the infrastructures and attract more tourist in this place.
