Atrophy, an underground thrash metal band from Arizona, made 2 albums, 1 in 1988, and 1 in 1990, under Roadrunner Records. Sadly, the albums are out of print, and Roadrunner is not giving Atrophy the rights to the albums. Personally, I think, and I'm sure many other fans of the band will agree, that Atrophy deserves the possession of their albums, so they can repress them at will. Also, I doubt that Roadrunner will be affected by this, as they already have much bigger bands such as Dream Theater, Slipknot and Trivium. The reason I care so much about this issue is because I know what it's like to be screwed over by labels; I know people personally who have been in bands, but have been unable to acquire the rights to their music, and it puts artists in an extremely tough place. In addition to this, Atrophy split from Roadrunner almost 30 years ago, but Atrophy are still around and gigging in America and Europe. This is why I think it's important that Atrophy have the rights to their albums back, it will help them out drastically, and it will barely affect Roadrunner. So I kindly ask that if you're reading this, can you please sign the petition, you'll be improving the lives of several people, and it takes barely any time out of your day.
