Why this petition matters

Started by Lori McKeown

KIKU’s parent company, RNN Media Group, headquartered in New York, made the decision to replace its Japanese and Filipino shows with ShopHQ beginning June 28. Our elders have relied on the programming for the last 40 years. Not only does the programming bring their cultures into their homes, but it allows other generations to learn about traditions and lifestyles of the Japanese and Filipino cultures. The loss of this educational programming will cause a greater culture gap, losing the sense of identity among those struggling to keep their cultures alive.

Please support by signing and sharing this petition, asking RNN Media Group to continue the programming. Maybe as proud children of the Japanese and Filipino immigrants who came to Hawaii, we can save the KIKU shows our parents and grandparents have grown to love. Mahalo!
