Please join us tomorrow Tuesday, May 15th from 5pm-6pm, for a rally to protest Bill 19 outside the Manitoba Legislature. If this Bill passes it will enable municipal leaders to eliminate conditional use hearings and Provincial Technical Reviews relating to hog barns. This means that rural home owners and councils will NO LONGER have ANY say in how industrial hog barn facilities perform. Rural municipalities will lose the ability to voice their concerns. They will no longer have any say in how industrialized hog barns in their backyard are regulated, demand proof that legislation is enforced, or that environmental impacts of the hog industry are being monitored. Please come out and show the Pallister government that we strongly oppose this bill. We will gather in front of the Legislature at 5pm, please bring signs relevant to this cause. Also, we please ask that everyone contact the R.M of Lorne to voice their concerns again. Thank you so much for your ongoing support, Manitoba Animal Save Their contact info is: Rural Municipality of Lorne 307 3rd Street, Box 10 Somerset, MB R0G 2L0 Tel: (204) 744-2133 Fax: (204) 744-2349 RM of Lorne Reeve Aurel Pantel, Chief Administrative Officer Shannon Gaultier, Council Members Stan Saxton, Roger Lesage, Lindsay Ketsman, Denis Savard, and Denis Bibau.
