Rising fuel bills will hit Disabled people hardest - please sign

The Issue

War in the Middle East means household fuels bills are expected to soar

And as energy bills rise Disabled people will be hit hardest.

Many Disabled people already face much higher fuel costs than other households.

No one should pay more just to stay warm, safe, and able to manage their health.

These extra energy costs are not a choice, they are essential.

For example, many rely on life saving medical equipment, need additional heating to manage health conditions, or have higher laundry and hot water use.

At the same time, Disabled people are already much more likely to be living in poverty.

The Chancellor has announced her plan to provide energy bill help for those 'who need it most', but we are concerned that this does not properly and explicitly take Disabled people’s needs into account.

That's why we're calling on Government to take specific measures to ensure Disabled people are protected against the inevitable rise in fuel costs resulting from war in the Middle East.

If more people sign, it sends a clear message that Disabled people’s needs cannot be ignored. Public pressure matters - and it can lead to real change.
