Morrissey has been announced as the Thursday headliner for the upcoming 2021 Riot Fest. While getting any festival up and running amidst a Pandemic is a valuable event, Morrissey has a long history of often Racist and unapologetic Hate Speech. Aside from a well documented history of dehumanizing language, he also proudly and regularly displayed a For Britain pin. For Britain is an extremist Right Wing group that believes in the removal of non-white people from the UK, and their involvement in the well known 'Brexit' event had profoundly devastating effects on the country increasing hate crimes and empowering Xenophobic and Racist ideals. There is zero place for such a figure at an event that for years has represented inclusion and equality - let alone headlining the event. Petition to remove Morrissey from the event entirely. Theres no reason for anyone who represents the antithesis of Punk ideals to be starring at the top of a Punk event. Thank you.
