The outbreak of the Zika virus has been widely publicized in recent months. Some of the headlines are as follows:

This virus is not the killer that many in the past have been but I believe it has a potential to cripple many in the next generation. What they do know about the virus is that it is linked to thousands of birth defects in Brazil, the infection can go virtually undetected making it more insidious. Now there are questions as to how long it stays in your system and if it can be sexually transmitted.

I am calling for the Rio Olympic Committee to Cancel the Summer Olympics in light of what we do know and almost as importantly what we don't know about this virus. Athletes, workers, spectators and many more from around the globe will be in an environment which could turn the Zika virus into a worldwide pandemic with massive future implications.

The Rio Olympic committee says that the mosquito population is way down at that time of year but I say that is still too big of a risk to take. Please join me in letting the Olympic Committees know that under the present circumstances we do not support the decision to hold the Summer Games in Brazil.
