Rio Blanco County Board of Commissioners will meet August 31, 2020 @8:00AM, 555 Main Street in the commissioner’s room on the 3rd floor.   Topic of concern will be the removal of our 911 dispatchers, and the task of dispatching local responder units will be moved to Colorado State Patrol.  
Commissioners, we implore you to vote against this action.   The dispatchers are vital to the PUBLIC SAFETY of this county and community.  The dispatchers are the citizens and RESPONDER's first and often ONLY point of contact during emergency situations.   Our PUBLIC SAFETY institutions are not to be DEFUNDED in such times of unprecedented turmoil   Please continue you budget cutting efforts in another realm of cash flow, but DO NOT take away OUR LIFELINE to HELP!    

Communities nationwide are in a public state of disarray over their policing efforts.  ALL EMERGENCY SERVICE staff should be encouraged and supported during such crisis.   The economic advantage that you seek is not worth the displacement of human lives that you are willing to risk.
We, the citizens of Rio Blanco County want to keep these positions funded and filled LOCALLY!
