*Update*

Two separate courts are currently reviewing court application fees. The fee in question was originally paid in relation to a property case where evidence indicates the property was obtained through fraudulent activities. Both courts have been notified of our request to have the fees transferred to the application for disclosure. Our barrister is aware.

This is why we are pushing for urgent amendments to the UK-US Agreement for families to Access Electronic Data for the Purpose of Countering Serious Crime.

*Serious Crimes include but are not limited to:*

- Missing person

- Property & money obtained by fraudulent means through both UK and US financial systems

*Historically referenced document* — _A need to protect our courts from corruption from both national and international threats.

When documents are consistent with established law, policies, and procedures of our courts and medical institutions, disregarding them is inconsistent with the rule of law. Institutions cannot unilaterally treat current policies and procedures as null and void to suit a particular situation.

My case, like many other cross-border cases, has evidence-based fraudulent activities attached to it which highlight the critical need for families to have access to medical records and timely investigation updates nationally and internationally. The financial burden that lengthy cases place on families is absolutely disgraceful.

The UK-US Agreement was previously published as USA No. 6 (2019) CP 178, Treaty Series No. 33 (2024): _Agreement between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of the United States of America on Access to Electronic Data for the Purpose of Countering Serious Crime_, Washington, 3 October 2019 [The Agreement entered into force 3 October 2022]. Presented to Parliament by the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs by Command of His Majesty, May 2024.

We recently reached out to both UK and US government officials.

Specifically, we would like to propose additions that prioritize support for victims and their families, ensuring timely updates, and believe this amendment is crucial for those affected by cross-border investigations.

This proposed amendment aims to address gaps in current support mechanisms, ultimately strengthening the protection of families and victims in cross-border cases. We've cited the following provisions:

*ARTICLE 14 – Amendments*

This Agreement may be amended by written agreement of the Parties at any time.

*ARTICLE 17 – Expiry and Termination of the Agreement*

I've requested information on the correct department and protocol for submitting proposals to amend the Agreement. I am awaiting confirmation before proceeding.

I will be sure to keep you updated on our progress.
