Our school systems has failed us. Last year deceased Joseph Smith’s family asked if he could have a seat at graduation. The school told them no he could not. I am helping his family protect the rights of deceased students rights. This was very unfair to them and they have decided to make a difference for the following school year and years after. There is families who suffer everyday the loss of a child. Parents/ guardians deserve to have their child announced the year of their kids high school graduation. The school has told these families no they could not have an empty chair, or even have their name announced at graduation. There should be a policy stating that deceased students deserve it. There is many of school that do not do this and it’s unfair. All i am asking if for your quick signature to change this policy for the 23’ graduate class and every year after that at Collinsville High school and even any other school. Your signature matters as there will be two students so far that should be announced next year. Please help change this.
