Petition updateRicki's Story - Right Care Right Person FailedUnredacted Call i Made to NHS 111 the day he was found dead have been released

In August 2023 i requested a copy of the call i made to NHS 111 that finally lead to Ricki's body being found, and what the supplied me with was a 20 minute heavely redacted call(including the silent times in the recording), i questioned why they had redacted my voice telling them all about Ricki, they said as it was medical information that i was telling them about Ricki it was redacted under the Health Act 2010, which is stupid as it me telling them not the other way round, plus on hearing the call i was sure that other stuff had been redacted that would not have been covered under the Health Act.

Fast forward to last week, now as i have submitted further complaints to the police and NHS 111 on behalf of his mother, over her calling them 5 days before he was found where both the NHS and police failed to help, she has signed me all the consent i needed to put the complaints in  and request all calls, and while i have the consent I requested my call again and while their current investigation are ongoing i'm unable to get her calls but i did get mine.

On joining the 12 parts of the call together i now have a total duration time of 40 minutes, now all that is redacted is the handlers name and for some starnge reason , me giving the call handler Ricki's brother phone number ?, which turned out they called a wrong number, i'll let you work out why i think they redacted that.

Anyway one of the parts that was redacted first time round was an internal call between the call handler and another advisor who he was seeking advice from, now this is released in full, really should not have been redacted in the first place as theres really no mention of Ricki's medical info, but it does show what a mess this new police policy is, as when the policy was rolled out all Agencies Signed a Partnership Agreement

part of which says and i quote.

This means the approach to RCRP implementation for people with mental health needs,
should be planned and developed jointly through cross-agency partnerships before changes to
responses are introduced.

But South Yorkshire Police rolled this new policy out 2 months before my call to them and the NHS 111, and clearly after my upheld IOPC outcome which stated  that the IOPC had checked that the police had it set up with all other agencies as per their below quote

I have made enquiries with the force and have been provided with evidence that they have
kept the ambulance service fully informed about the RCRP policy and their role within it.
Accordingly, I am satisfied the force's responsibility to inform their partner agency about the
policy has been fulfilled. Any concerns with how the partner agency ensured their own staff
were properly informed would be beyond my remit to consider.

Now concidering all the above one would think oh they all know what this policy is and how its to be run across all agencies? but you would be WRONG.

As i found out when I played part 3 of the 12 parts of my unredacted call  between the handler and the advisor they was seeking help from while i was on hold.

Quotes from that call.

The female advisor who is speaking to the call handler who is explaning the situation responds with,    Why have they rang us? Refering to me.

then a little later the call handler says to the advisor

I haven't done anything yet because I don't know what to do with the call

Which now clearly shows that after the police rolled out this policy 2 months before, that NHS 111 knew nothing of it and how to deal with theses types of calls, explaines why my call to them that day lasted 47 minutes.

Now looking at my outcome letter from my complaint to NHS 111 where they state that the call was handled correctly, is WRONG, and also ponders the question as to why they had Redacted all of that and more that was nothing to do with the Health Act unless it was to hide their MISTAKES.

Now at the moment I'm awaiting the police reinvestigation in to the outcome to my upheld Police and IOPC complaint where they admitted an Error was made and that Ricki should have been dealt with as a Missing person and i should have not been told to call NHS 111 that day, I'm guessing they don't like that answer so they are trying to change it, was told would take up to 4 weeks but its now 9 weeks and still no outcome.

I submitted Ricki's mothers complaints and call request on the 24 June and am still awaiting the results of those investigations and once i have them me and my MP will be discussing where next to go.

I can't beleive that the police thought by saying the delays in response that day would not have change the outcome as Ricki had died before the day his body was found, but in the 12 months since then they failed and NHS 111 to tell me that his mother had made various call to both police and NHS, 5 days before hand and they refused to help, and even at his inquest the coroner only mentioned my calls and a neighbour calling the police 2 days before, but when i got home and for the first time looked through the Coroners bundle of statements that were given to us at the inquest(45 pages) it clearly stated his mother calls 5 days before, which i knew nothing about until the. which has now prompted the new complaints, as there is a high chance he was alive 5 days before. but was let down.

I'll keep you updated.
