Convince Rickenbacker to Rerelease the 4080 double neck model

The Issue

I, as well as many other musicians, enjoy creating music with the high quality instruments crafted by the Rickenbacker factory and many of us play more than bass or guitar. This problem was solved by trailblazers like Mike Rutherford of Genesis and Geddy Lee of Rush, along with more modern musicians like Al Cisneros of Sleep with the creation of the 4080 model. However as years go by and these basses are bought by collectors it becomes increasingly more difficult to find second hand models. Other than buying cheaper and often times lower quality copies of the instrument there is no way to find these instruments in a modern landscape. If Rickenbacker were to start production on 4080 models I believe that they would see sales just as well as other bass and guitar models that are always in short supply. Historical preservation of pop culture has become more important as we realize that things ourselves, parents, or even grandparents grew up with are forgotten or only remembered in photos and some videos. Releasing a model like the 4080 would help to preserve its legacy. If endorsed by players like Lee or Rutherford it could possibly be released as an artist model (similar to the 4001C64/s{Paul McCartney}, 1997PT{Pete Townshend}, 4001CS{Chris Squire}, 4004LK{Lemmy Kilmister}, 4003AC{Al Cisneros}.Understandably this maybe more difficult as this would require possible royalties to the artists or other complications they may have such as not having the original instruments or possible modifications on the instruments that could not be feasibly replicated by Rickenbacker. With your assistance this petition can hopefully reach other artists interested in this guitar and help bring it to the people interested creating new music with such an instrument that is almost lost to time.
