I'm not interested in having a philosophical debate about whether guns are good or bad. They are neither. I'm not concerned that the government will take away my gun rights. It wont (at least in Florida). I'm not interested in curing the insane. What I AM interested in is school security. 

When we adults enter "gun free zones" (areas where civilian weapons are banned) at airports, courthouses and Federal buildings we are deprived of the right to defend ourselves. However, these areas are swarming with heavily armed police officers and K9s and secured by metal detectors and x-ray machines, all to ensure our absolute safety. It is completely appalling that the only "gun free zones" left defenseless are our schools. The most vulnerable amongst us - our children - are sitting ducks. You can run all the "lockdown drills" you want and install door locks and buzzers everywhere, but they obviously don't do a thing to stop a maniac set on mass murder. 

I wont feel any better sending my kids to school next week if they ban high capacity magazines. I want an armed, trained officer stationed at every school, starting with my kids' schools. Not next year. Not next month. Tomorrow. And don't tell me about budget issues (borrow some cash from the $2B we send Egypt every year). Otherwise, we have no right to tell teachers and administrators they can't be armed to protect themselves and their students.
