Richmond Meat Free Sausages are currently sold in plastic packaging.
Most single-use plastic ends up in landfills, oceans, waterways, and the environment. Plastics do not biodegrade. Instead, they slowly break down into smaller pieces of plastic called microplastics which again are likely to end up in our water system.

The packaging of the sausages contains a single-use plastic film and therefore can not be recycled, this means it will not biodegrade and will possibly end up sitting on our landfill sites for years and years to come. The plastic tray is recyclable, however, there is still no need for the sausages to be packaged using these materials. Many planet-friendly alternatives will suffice.

Be part of a small decision to make a BIG change in how food is packaged. With a hope that these baby steps for one product; from such a well-founded company can influence other companies to re-consider their packaging choices.
